Local know-how
Planning a mowing schedule around Tauranga's growth season
Most commercial lawns in Tauranga are kikuyu, or have kikuyu through them. From November to March it grows fast enough that a flat fortnightly schedule falls behind: the grass gets long between visits, each cut scalps it, and the site looks rough for days. In winter the same schedule wastes money mowing grass that's barely grown.

A seasonal schedule fixes both. Weekly visits through the summer peak, fortnightly in spring and autumn, and every three to four weeks in winter. Across a year it's often a similar number of visits to a flat schedule, but the site looks consistently tidy.
Timing matters too. We plan mowing around residents' quiet hours at retirement villages, class times and events at schools, and peak customer times at retail and hospitality sites.
