Local know-how
Mowing industrial land, verges and vacant sites in Tauranga
Large sites around Tauranga have their own challenges. Industrial land near the port, around Mount Maunganui's industrial area and in Tauriko often has rough ground, hidden debris and steep drain batters. We walk new sites before the first cut, because a buried steel offcut or a hidden drain can wreck a mower or injure someone.

Growth is the other factor. Unmown verges and vacant lots in a wet Bay of Plenty spring can grow knee-high in a few weeks, which looks neglected, hides rubbish and creates a fire risk once it dries off in summer. A regular schedule through spring and summer keeps grass short enough to cut quickly and safely.
Steep banks and drain edges that are unsafe for a ride-on are trimmed by hand instead.

FAQs
Large-area mowing FAQs
What size of site do you cover?
From large commercial lawns to big industrial yards and vacant sites. Tell us the site and we'll tell you if it suits.
Can you mow steep banks?
Moderate slopes by ride-on. Banks too steep to ride safely are line-trimmed by hand.
Can you mow vacant development land?
Yes, as a one-off cut or on a schedule while it's for sale or waiting for building.
Do you mow road verges?
Yes, on private and commercial frontage. Work on public roads needs traffic management, which we'll discuss at the site walk.
Do you provide a health and safety plan?
Yes. Every site gets a site-specific health and safety plan before the first visit.
How often should a large site be mowed?
It depends on the grass and how tidy the site needs to look. Most sites need more visits from late spring to late summer and fewer in winter, and we'll recommend a schedule at the site walk.
