  • A good first impression

Entrances, frontage gardens and planters kept neat, with weeds gone from paving, kerbs and car park islands.

  • Work around trading hours

Visits early or at quieter times, so mowers and blowers don't disturb customers or block car parks when you're busiest.

  • Safe for staff and visitors

Paths and car parks kept clear of clippings and debris, and a site-specific health and safety plan before we start.

  • Reporting for the landlord

A short photo report after each visit that you can pass on to the owner, tenant or facilities manager.

Through the year

A year of grounds care at a Tauranga business

Customers see the frontage every day, so the schedule keeps it presentable while growth rises and falls through the year.

  1. SpringSep–Nov

Growth takes off. Visits step up, gardens weeded and the first hedge trim done.

  2. SummerDec–Feb

Peak growth and the busiest trading months. Weekly mowing where needed and frontages kept sharp.

  3. AutumnMar–May

Leaf fall in car parks and gutters. Second hedge trim and a good time to refresh planters.

  4. WinterJun–Aug

Fewer mowing visits. Weed spraying on hard surfaces and planning any bigger garden work.

Compliance

Health and safety, insurance and reporting

When you bring a contractor onto your site, you share health and safety duties with them, and those duties can't be contracted out. A contractor who plans and records their work makes that easier.

Questions to ask any commercial grounds contractor

  1. Can you show us your public liability insurance certificate?
  2. Will you write a safety plan for our site?
  3. Can you work outside our busiest hours?
  4. What exactly is included in each visit, in writing?
  5. How will we know the work was done?
